1. Who we are, and what this policy covers

Shadi Biah is a matchmaking service in Pakistan. This policy explains what information we hold about you, who can see it, how long we keep it, and what you can ask us to do with it.

It covers the Shadi Biah website (www.shadibiah.pk) and the Shadi Biah mobile app. If you have a question about anything in it, write to support@shadibiahadmin.com or call 0315 786 9000.

2. What we collect

When you register with Shadi Biah — in the app, on the website, or by speaking to our staff on the phone — we collect:

Your identity details: your full name, date of birth, gender, phone number, email address, CNIC number and your complete home address.
A contact person, where a parent or relative is handling the rishta on your behalf — their name and their phone number.
Your answers to our rishta profile form: your education, your work, your family, your religious practice, your health, your lifestyle, and what you are looking for in a partner.
Up to two photographs, if you choose to give them. Photographs are optional. You can register, be matched and be introduced to a family without ever giving one.
Your Google account email address, if you sign in to the app. Signing in with a Google account is currently the only way into the app.
Notes our staff write after speaking to you by phone or on WhatsApp, so that whoever you speak to next already knows what was discussed. These notes cannot be edited or deleted once written.

3. What we do not collect

The app does not track your location. It does not read your contacts, your messages or your call history. It contains no advertising, no advertising identifier, and no analytics or tracking service of any kind. It does not use your microphone.

4. Photographs, and the location hidden inside them

Phones normally record the exact spot where a photograph was taken, inside the picture file itself, where you cannot see it. When you add a photograph to Shadi Biah, the app strips that information out on your own phone, before the photograph is sent to us. We never receive it and we do not store it.

5. Who can see your information — the part that matters most

Our own staff can see everything you have given us. That is how this service works. A person at Shadi Biah reads your profile, checks it, speaks to you, and looks for a suitable rishta by hand. Each staff member signs in with their own account, and what they do is recorded.
No other member ever sees your name, your photograph, your phone number, your email address, your CNIC or your home address. Not on any membership plan, paid or free. When another member is shown a possible match, they see an anonymous profile — age, city, education, family background, religious practice and so on — with every identifying detail removed.
Contact details change hands by hand, through us, once both families have said they wish to proceed. Never automatically, and never through the app.
We do not sell your information. We do not share it for advertising. We do not pass it to anybody outside Shadi Biah except as described in the next section.

6. Where your information is stored

Shadi Biah's records and photographs are stored using Google Firebase, a hosting service provided by Google. Google holds the data on its servers on our behalf, as our service provider. No third party other than that hosting service has access to it.

7. How long we keep your information

We keep your profile for as long as you have an account with us.

If you deactivate your account, nothing is deleted — see the next section. If you ask us to delete your account, we carry that out and the record goes.

Staff call notes, and our internal record of what staff did, are kept permanently and cannot be edited, because they are the record of how your case was handled.

8. Deactivating your account, or asking us to delete it

These are two different things, and you can ask for either.

Deactivate. In the app, open Settings and choose to deactivate. It takes effect immediately: you stop being shown to other members, and you stop being shown other members. Nothing is deleted. Every answer you gave is still there. Contact us whenever you want it switched back on, and your profile returns exactly as it was.
Delete. In the app, open Settings and choose to delete your account. On this website, use the Delete my account page. Either one sends a deletion request to our office, and a member of our staff carries it out by hand. We will contact you first to confirm, because deletion cannot be undone.

9. Keeping your information correct

You can change your own answers in the app whenever you like. Our staff can correct details for you if you would rather call. Anything a staff member changes is recorded against their account.

10. Who this service is for

Shadi Biah is for adults of legal marriageable age in Pakistan, looking for a marriage partner for themselves or for someone in their family. It is not intended for children. Where a profile reaches us for somebody below that age, it is held out of matchmaking entirely until we have spoken to the family.

11. Keeping it safe

Only Shadi Biah staff accounts can reach member information, and each staff member signs in as themselves. The rules about who may read what are enforced by the database itself rather than only by the app, so one member cannot reach another member's private details even by going around the app.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Every version carries its own date, shown at the top of this page. We keep a record of which version you accepted and when you accepted it, so that we can ask you again if it changes in a way that matters.
